The arrangement of veins and veinlets in the lamina of leaf is called as venation. When veinlets form a network, the venation is called as reticulate. When the veins run parallel to each other within a lamina, the venation is called as parallel. Leaves of dicotyledonous plants generally have reticulate venation, while parallel venation is the found in most monocotyledons.
